Our Mission
Atlantis Strength’s mission started with a single principle: build gym equipment that stronger athletes can train on without compromise. The company operates from a facility in Laval, Quebec, where approximately 150 employees design, manufacture, and test every product before it reaches the market.
We test all gym equipment in our corporately-owned, membership-based gym, a 50,000 sq ft training facility located 10 minutes from the manufacturing headquarters. This real-world testing process means every machine proves itself under actual training conditions before release. Few manufacturers in the industry operate a full-scale commercial gym dedicated to product validation.

Our Story
1982
Atlantis Strength was founded in 1982 by Raymond Sansoucy, a Canadian bodybuilding champion who built his first piece of equipment by hand. After studying the contents of countless gyms across North America, Sansoucy saw a gap: most gym equipment available at the time could not survive heavy use or was not heavy enough to challenge serious athletes.
Atlantis Strength started as a small operation where improvisation was the norm. Sansoucy ran his own gym and completed a degree at night while finishing equipment pads at 4:00 AM to meet delivery deadlines. As demand grew from other provinces and the United States, Atlantis Strength moved to larger facilities every five years to keep pace.
1998
By 1998, Atlantis Strength had settled into its current manufacturing headquarters in Laval, Quebec, north of Montreal. The facility houses approximately 150 employees who design, build, and test every product on-site. Atlantis Strength’s corporately-owned commercial gym, located 10 minutes from the headquarters, serves as the brand’s showroom and a real-world testing environment where customers can try the full product line.
Today
Atlantis Strength continues to expand its global footprint. From a single hand-built machine in 1982 to Canada’s largest commercial strength equipment manufacturer, Atlantis Strength remains focused on what it does best: building gym equipment that performs under heavy, daily use.
