Production Supervisor – Assembly, Paint, and Filling

Nature of work: The assembly/painting/refurbishing production supervisor is responsible for optimizing production activities and managing the work team. He/she must ensure that objectives are met, that deadlines are adhered to, and that products are manufactured according to quality standards and technical specifications. He/she ensures that procedures, work rules, and health and safety regulations are applied.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Determine daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to team leaders.
  • Organize workflow by assigning work orders, managing changes, and setting priorities.
  • Ensure that deadlines for departments under his/her supervision are met.
  • Supervise and evaluate each station in the process to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Identify efficiency problems and suggest improvements.
  • Plan and maintain product inspections by establishing a quality control system in each department under supervision.
  • Organize departmental equipment maintenance, coordinating with team leaders.
  • Ensure safe use of equipment and tools..
  • Maintain open lines of communication between employees, union representatives, and management
  • Ensure employees achieve their goals, by providing technical support, tools, coaching, etc.
  • Supervise employees and manage disciplinary situations in cooperation with human resources.
  • Promote employee well-being and commitment.
  • Write various reports on production, performance, progress, etc.
  • Pursue training and continuous improvement for all employees under his/her supervision.
  • Ensure the application of company policies and procedures, including health and safety (internal and regulatory) to reduce the risk of employee injury on the job.
  • Any other related duties.

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, management, industrial engineering or equivalent.
    Ability to communicate orally and in writing in French.
    Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Excel).
    Experience in managing production and personnel in a unionized environment.
    Problem-solving skills.
    Results-oriented, continuous improvement approach.
    Analytical skills, good judgment, and a sense of priority.
    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
    Ability to react quickly to changing situations.
  • Proactivity, resourcefulness, diligence, and punctuality.

Assets:

  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, Smartsheet, and Sharepoint.
  • Working knowledge of machining and manufacturing methods, reading work plans, etc.
  • Physical fitness – the ability to stand and lift weights up to 55 lbs as required.
